Event description
Join Friends of the Owyhee for a full day of giving back and getting outside in one of the most stunning corners of the Owyhee — Leslie Gulch. We’ll kick things off with stewardship work, then gather for lunch and a guided hike into some of the canyon’s most dramatic trails.
📅 Schedule of Activities:
🎟 10:00 AM – Raffle Begins
Kick off the day with a chance to win Boise Hawks baseball tickets and other outdoor prizes.
🛠 10:15 AM – Stewardship Projects
Join us in caring for this special place through:
• Trash cleanup in high-use areas
• Puncture vine removal around the campground
• Additional restoration work as needed
🥪 12:00 PM – Lunch Break (bring your own lunch)
Regroup at Slocom Creek Campground to eat and relax before the hike.
🥾 12:30 PM – Guided Hikes Begin
Choose your adventure: Juniper Gulch or Timber Gulch — both are unforgettable canyon hikes with incredible geology and views.
🎣 Fishing at Owyhee Lake (anytime!)
It’s Free Fishing Weekend, so no license is needed — great fishing awaits after the event!
What to Bring:
Water, lunch, snacks, gloves (if you have them), sun protection, sturdy footwear, and fishing gear if desired.
We’ll Provide: Cleanup tools, light refreshments, and good company!
Come help care for the land we all love — then stay to hike, fish, and connect with the community.
