Event description

NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development in conjunction with Meat and Livestock Australia and Holbrook Landcare are hosting a tour of 2 trial sites: Morven and Mangoplah.

Aiming to help graziers better understand latest best practices for addressing soil acidity, effective lime application methods, and the selection and management of productive pasture mixes.

Topics for discussion:

  • Revised practices for managing acid soils: sampling intervals and lime application methods

  • Lime impacts on pasture mixes: yield and feed quality, companion species dynamics, weed burdens, and mineral concentrations.

  • Serradellas - performance in Southern NSW.

  • Holbrook Landcare Network's acid soil program.

Lunch provided. Please BYO chair.

NOTE: This tour will involve a 40min drive from the 1st site "Boorock", Morven to the 2nd site at Mangoplah.
