What to Expect:

Warm-Up: We embark on our journey with a warm-up, an opportunity to move in any way your heart desires. Stretch, yawn, and move freely, allowing your body to express itself without boundaries.

The 5Rhythms® Journey: The carefully curated playlist flows through five different rhythms, each inviting a different quality of movement, emotion, and release.

You don’t need to know the steps. There aren’t any.

Just follow the music, let your body respond, and trust that each rhythm will meet you exactly where you are.

  • Flowing grounds you — soft, circular movements that help you land in your body and connect to the earth beneath.

  • Staccato brings fire — sharper shapes, clear expression, and the rhythm of the heartbeat.

  • Chaos is where we let go — shaking off control, releasing tension, and allowing the body to move instinctively.

  • Lyrical lifts us — lighter, more spacious, playful movement that reminds us how good it feels to be alive.

  • Stillness settles it all — the integration, the exhale, the quiet after the storm.

Each rhythm offers a doorway into a different part of yourself. Together, they create a powerful, embodied arc — one that unfolds differently for every person, every time.

No prior dance experience is needed, only a desire to let your body move and a willingness to explore.

Closing Circle: We conclude our journey with a short circle, grounding us in the present moment, and preparing us to step back into the world.

We celebrate newcomers!

5Rhythms® - created by Gabrielle Roth and practised by tens of thousands worldwide - is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion, it will heal itself. Wherever the 5Rhythms are practised, a community is born to dance. To sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a safe space for each of us to shatter the ego’s hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free.

Join us to celebrate your soul through dance. Express yourself fully using your body as your instrument, and the dance as your song.

What to wear:

Dress ready to move. We recommend loose comfortable clothes and layers. There is the invitation to dance with bare feet on the ground. For everyone’s comfort, let’s make this a fragrance free zone.

With Catherine Stagg - Macey

I'm a former tech executive turned movement facilitator who discovered that the deepest wisdom often lives in our bodies, not our minds. After spending decades building a successful corporate career, I found 5Rhythms in 2012 and it cracked open a door I didn't even know was closed.

This practice keeps teaching me that our bodies hold stories our minds aren't ready to tell. Sometimes it's messy, sometimes it's magical, but it's always real. As someone who's danced with depression and lived in the shadows of mental health challenges, I know firsthand how this practice can be both terrifying and transformative.

I chose to teach 5Rhythms because I believe in creating spaces where transformation doesn't have to be precious. Where you can show up exactly as you are - whether that's anxious, analytical, awkward, or anywhere in between. My classes blend structure with creative freedom, making this powerful practice accessible to everyone, especially those who think they "can't dance" or feel uncomfortable in their bodies.

In my other life, I'm an executive coach, podcast host, and ceramicist, working with leaders to create more human-centred workplaces. This blend of corporate experience and creative exploration helps me bridge worlds - translating the profound wisdom of 5Rhythms into practical, grounded movement experiences.

My dance spaces welcome every body and everybody. Whether you're a CEO or student, whether you live in your head or are scared of what lives in your body, whether you're flowing or frozen - there's room for all of you here. Come dance with me. Let's discover how freedom lives in structure, how healing happens through movement, and how community grows through individual expression. Together, we'll find the rhythm that brings you home to yourself.

The Burrow

We started in April 2024 to provide a space for people to come together to heal, transform, connect and celebrate.

Most of our events have holistic wellbeing in mind, all guided by skilled facilitators. We have had some wonderful workshops, including gong meditations, a women’s authenticity workshop, ecstatic dance, wheel of the year celebrations, and Inipi ceremonies. Every month, I (Juliet) facilitate a fireside chat, where we commune around the fire with a specific topic and engage in conscious conversation for a couple of hours.

We have CIC status, which is designed for businesses that aim to benefit the community, rather than private shareholders. CICs are a form of social enterprise, where profits are generally reinvested into the community or used to support the company’s social mission. In time, we hope to get funding to improve the facilities, which will make some events easier during the rainier months. Every ticket you purchase gets us a little closer to our bigger plans.

If you’d prefer to keep off socials (I would!) the best way to get information is to “follow” The Burrow on here to be notified of any new events. We also have a website http://theburrowfarnham.co.uk .
