The Mending Circle returns to Fed Square this Fashion Festival season with “Stitch it, Don’t ditch it" in the Atrium.
Book a free half-hour slot from 11 am (limit of 20 people per session) to bring your items for repair.
Following the success of 2022, the theme is 'Stitch It, Don’t Ditch It,' advocating for sustainable mending practices globally.
Menders, led by Tamara Russell of Karhina Textiles, will assist you to mend your items guiding attendees in the art of repair, emphasizing the ease of DIY mending. The aim is to empower individuals to mend items themselves, promoting a sustainable approach. Join The Mending Circle for a chat or hands-on mending, showcasing that stitching is a rewarding alternative to discarding. It's a celebration of sustainable fashion, encouraging a shift from disposal to preservation, one stitch at a time.
