    Event description

Through a series of reflective prompts participants will create their own stitched landscape using thrifted and naturally dyed textiles.

Over two days we will explore the power of stitch to connect the stitcher to place and time. Participant’s finished artwork will be a both a visually imagined landscape as well as a representation of their inner landscape.

Date: Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November
    Time:
    10am- 2pm, both days
    Level: Suitable for all levels
Tickets (prices are for both days): Members Early Bird (if booked before 20 October) $165, Members $185, Non-members $205 (Includes all materials to create a wall mounted piece)

We use the Humanitix ticketing platform to help us manage our workshops and classes. Humanitix charge a booking fee which we split with you 50/50. Humanitix is a registered charity and 100% of their profits go to social impact projects with a particular focus on closing the education gap.

Pippita Bennett lives and works on Gundungurra and Dharug Country. She uses hand stitch and naturally dyed and thrifted fabric to create landscapes of places she lives in and visits. Every textile she works with is soaked either with the memory of the place they were dyed or the memory of its past use. Stitches are her words: a journal of place and time, where memories and images overlay one another.
