From developing space-based applications and manufacturing satellites to launching rockets and deploying spacecraft, South Australia is the new gateway to the stars. Lean in as we unpack the opportunities available for space-tech entrepreneurs and investors to grasp in the growing South Australian space community. You will also discover how two prominent space entrepreneurs got started and what their thoughts are on space entrepreneurship in Australia.

SPEAKERS BIOS:

About Flavia
Flavia Tata Nardini began her career at the European Space Agency as a Propulsion Test Engineer. She then joined TNO, the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research to work on advanced space propulsion projects. In 2015, Flavia co-founded Fleet, a connectivity company set to maximise the resource efficiency of human civilisation through low cost, low power remote massively scalable IoT. Fleet launched four of over 100 planned nanosatellites in 2018, enabling the next industrial revolution with a ubiquitous connectivity platform.


About Lloyd

Lloyd graduated with a degree in Space Engineering from the University of Sydney in 2005. After completing a Masters in aero-structural optimisation he worked in weapons research for Defence specialising in modelling, simulation and analysis. Lloyd has led teams to explore applied artificial intelligence, high speed vehicle design and large Defence trials. In early 2017 he started Southern Launch. The specialised team alongside him is developing a Polar and Sun Synchronous Orbit rocket launch site and associated infrastructure. Lloyd is working to bring economies of scale to rocket launch operations.

MODERATOR BIO:

About Christian
Christian is a startup advisor and investor in early and growth stage SaaS startups such as Pipedrive and Lokalise. He works with entrepreneurs on go-to-market strategy, recruiting, balancing SaaS metrics, pricing software products, and VC fundraising. Previous to his relocation to Adelaide, Christian was in venture capital in Europe and in key account management at ORACLE. He’s a graduate of the International Space University and the MBA program at INSEAD.
