Stories After Dark 5 - Visual Storytelling
Event description
⚡️Visual Storytelling - Using your creativity to show rather than tell ⚡️
"A picture tells a thousand words"... This old adage still holds true. Visual storytelling plays a key role in a world increasingly dominated by screens.
Last session we explored interview conduct, questions, and laying doing your narrative orally. So it's only natural to explore the other key component in our communications. Whether you are creating your brand assets, designing your website's look or creating compelling photography and film, visual storytelling unlocks huge power.
Join us on Tuesday, June 15th for our fifth session of Stories After Dark, a series of eight rapid-fire evening workshops for anyone who wants to build storytelling skills to create a positive change in the world.
This workshop blends creative exercises with practical methods to brainstorm, plan and produce effective images that show or symbolize your work.
What we will cover:
- Creative brainstorming
- Visual storytelling essentials
- A practical creative warm-up
- Storyboarding practice
- Top tips for capturing cutaways and photographs
- Sequencing visuals
- Sourcing stock imagery for websites, social media and film
You are welcome to come prepared with a story idea, story canvas or story outline if you are a previous workshop participant.
We will finish with a casual 10 minute Q&A after our official end.
