Stories at the Pier

Michael competed in the road race at the 1980 Moscow Olympic games having chosen road cycling over track.  He subsequently competed for 9 years in Europe as a professional.  During this time, he competed in La Vuelta (Tour of Spain), Giro d’Italia & Tour de France winning stages along the way.

After cycling he returned to Tasmania and established Velo Wines, a great winery turning out quality whites and some very nice Pinot on the pristine Tamar Valley.

The past 2 years he has been the brewer at Island State Brewers.
