Event description

The Noosa community loves Stories that Stir™ and the feeling is mutual. We are thrilled to announce that Stories that Stir™
is returning to Sunshine Beach Surf Club for its next life-affirming event, to round off 2024.

Join us on 11th November where you'll hear from six inspiring people, who will share their 10-minute raw and personal stories linked to the theme DESTINY, in all its shapes and forms.

It's being brought to you by the Sunshine Coast STS dream team including, Stephanie Rother, Arnaum Walkley, Renee Paolini and Marie Bampton.

The Stories that Stir™ event series was designed to break down barriers, stir conversation, and inspire positive change.

Audience members rave about how good it feels to spend a lovely evening, listening to other people's funny, moving, and inspiring stories and how connected to humanity the event makes them feel.

PSYCHICS TOLD ME - Pauline Ryeland

Pauline kept getting told by psychics that she was a teacher and her response was “what am I going to teach?” After doing a Shamanic Sexuality course, her higher-self whispered, “you’re a sexual healer.” She didn’t know what that meant, so just put it aside until she couldn’t ignore the signs that this was her destiny.

MODERN FAMILY - Rick Cowley

At 24, Rick taught a surf lesson to a family with a unique and wonderful dynamic. Their easy harmony left a lasting impression on him. Years later, during his own separation and struggle, he held onto the vision of that peaceful, playful family. Today, that vision is his reality: a blended family that grows, plays and even works together. Was that surf lesson a glimpse into his destiny?

BORN TO BE - Willow Pryor

For as long as Willow could remember she wanted to be a mother but at 42, this didn’t look like this was a possibility. Yet, here she stands 7 years later, with a bustling household of 3 children. Our Destiny doesn’t always come with a prescribed pathway. It comes with a multitude of learnings, all vital to enabling us to unlock our destiny to be who we were born to be.

DONOR DESTINY - Jason Firth

Jason’s story is all about his 24 month mental strength journey from actively dying from a bad lung disease to getting a lung transplant 6 months ago. He is so grateful for the organ donation that saved his life.

ALONE TO ALONE - Rick J. Petersen

Rick’s life reveals that hardship when embraced, can shape one's destiny. Despite his difficult past, he found resilience, leadership, and love, turning adversity into a life of purpose. His journey shows that "All men choose the path they walk"— and destiny is not just what happens to you, but what you create from it.

INNER FREEDOM  Dr Nikki A Creber

Nikki’s four lived stories illustrate how nuanced freedom is. From Saving a life at 17 to being in charge of West End flood relief in the 74 Brisbane floods to then integrating 200 newly arrived kids from an African refugee camp into her ‘white” school- FREEDOM has taught her many things. Nikki is a story-teller, Advocate, Coach, Author, and Queensland Community Hero

Here's what people are saying about Stories that Stir™ events:
