Story Outlining Workshop - Starts April 3rd
Event description
Starts April 3rd
More than 90% of attendees completed their outline!
People have strong feelings about outlining—they either love it or hate it. But there is a middle ground. You can approach outlining in a way that preserves creative discovery while you write your first draft. The key is understanding story structure basics, the different types, and which might work best for your story.
Many books on story structure confuse the issue by using different terms for the same concepts, which can be frustrating.
This hands-on workshop blends lectures with personal feedback to help you craft an outline. With dedication, you'll develop a working outline—or at least a clear direction—that also gives you room for creative discovery during writing.
You will also:
- Understand different types of story structure
- Identify character arc, theme, central dramatic question, and hook
- Learn how characters reflect theme and structure
- Break down the story structure of several movies (because it's easier than reading several books)
- Receive personalized feedback
- Connect with other first-draft writers
- Outline your project
- Get answers to your burning questions
Most of all, you will gain the tools to complete your outline confidently.
Meeting Dates: Four sessions, meets every other week. April 3rd, April 17th, May 1st and May 8th
