Finding Home: Karijini Eco Retreat
Event description
Join us for a special evening of food and culture at Karijini Eco Retreat. Chef Zach Green, known as The Storyteller Chef, will guide you through Indigenous cuisine, highlighting the unique flavours and traditions that celebrate the rich heritage of our land and waters.
Set in the breathtaking Karijini National Park, this dinner is more than just a meal. Each dish is crafted using local ingredients, combining traditional techniques with modern methods. Zach’s cooking honours the ancestors of this land, connecting each bite to the stories and traditions of Indigenous culture.
Throughout the evening, Zach will share insights into his culinary journey, the inspiration behind his dishes, and his work as an advocate for mental health in the hospitality industry. His dedication to creating opportunities and promoting inclusion brings depth to this experience. The night will also feature an acoustic set from a renowned Indigenous musician.
What to Expect:
- A multi-course menu featuring native ingredients and traditional cooking methods.
- Storytelling with each dish, sharing its cultural significance and history.
- Expert wine pairings from LS Merchants, carefully selected to complement each course.
This event is not just about great food—it’s also about giving back. Proceeds will support 13 YARN, Australia’s first crisis support line led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, providing a culturally safe space for those in need.
Tickets are limited and expected to sell out quickly, as The Storyteller Chef’s events have across the country.
