    Event description

The William Grundt Memorial Library, in conjunction with the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Waste & Sustainability team, are pleased to bring a very special story time to the library!

Lady Marmalade - By Shani Graham and Tim Darby

Join the authors of the brilliant Aussie kid's book, Lady Marmalade - the story of a goat who lives happily in the country. But what happens when she moves to the city?

Finding herself lonely and hungry she goes for a walk and discovers a diverse range of neighbours all growing yummy food for her to eat. With the help of Mrs Barretts (growing carrots), Patty Prettice (growing lettuce) and a host of others, she ends up with a full belly and lots of friends to invite to a party.

That’s what you hear about in the first reading... But Lady Marmalade is more than that – Lady Marmalade is a story about urban food production, how to make friends, what it means to be lonely, healthy food choices, the diversity of our neighbourhoods... and lots of goat poo.

Tim & Shani live in Fremantle, where they host sustainable living workshops, grow veggies, make music, create sand sculptures (you might've met Tim at Kids Fest?), and raise their urban farm of goats and chickens.
