Stranger No More - Film night
Description
'Stranger No More’ is a DIY ski film created from ski footage I gathered over the 2025-26 winter in Europe. The video celebrates the community and sense of belonging I found over the last 5 winters based in Austria, which transcends divisions between snow riding craft and genres. I edited the video myself, and the soundtrack is made by a dear friend Rory Johns. Rory and I grew up together here in Wanaka.
Opening the evening will be the film 'Ripple' by Delilah Quinn, Brita Winans, and Ryder Shwartz, a beautifully cinematic film about the two female freeride skiers questioning their place in the world, after dedicating most of their lives to skiing. This film follows their journey in rediscovering the joy in an innately creative, spiritual persuit. More than anything, “ripple” is a story about surrendering to the present moment.
Delilah is an old friend of mine who is visiting from America. She approached me about joining in with their film after seeing my screening advertised, and I thought it would be a great fit.
I look forward to seeing you all there!
