Event description

The Greater City of Geelong and Queescliffe Local and Volunteering Geelong invite members of community organisations, coordinators and volunteers to take part in a workshop tailored to volunteer based community groups. If you would like to know more about how strategic planning may assist your group to increase sustainability, recruitment and retention, then this workshop could be of assistance.

Dr Shona Bass will be presenting the SEEK Virtual Volunteer Navigation Hub for Community Organisations

Volunteering Geelong's CEO Helen Hunter will speak to the Volunteering Landscape in Geelong and the Bellarine.

We will explore:

What is a Strategic Plan?

  • Why have a plan?
  • Can Plans Change?
  • Implementation of Strategic plans

Collection of data - do you need to? How? Which data?

Take part in a SWOT Analysis

What impacts and what consolidates S's, W's, O's and T's.

Mental Health and Wellbeing for Community Leaders

  • Promotion of collegiate relationships.
  • Social prescribing and supports for organisations.

Why you may (when developing a strategic plan);

  • use an independent facilitator.
  • use an internal facilitator
  • workshop who is best to write the plan.
  • decide ahead of time the scope and length of the plan/how much of a plan.
  • decide who will review the plan?
  • decide who gets to make changes to the plan?
  • Decide how will you be able to evaluate the success of a plan?
  • Collect data - do you need to? How? Which data?
