STREET
Millinery Australia Student Award - 2025
The annual Millinery Australia Student Award is open to millinery lovers worldwide. Whether you are a student of millinery, taking a fashion-related course, a high school, college or university student or simply taking workshops for your own enjoyment, you are welcome to enter our competition. (refer to eligibility criteria below)
This year's theme ‘STREET’ is a versatile theme that could be interpreted in many different ways and entrants are welcome to explore the theme as they wish.
Interpretation could include inspiration from a wide range of sources including art, culture, history and personal experiences encompassing, but not limited to, these aspects:
Street style / Urban landscapes / City streets / Street wear / Life on the streets / Travelling the streets / Streets of the world / Beneath the streets / Lost on the streets
ELIGIBILITY
- Students can enter up to 3 times over consecutive years (restricted to a 3 year period)
- Entrants must have completed an online, or in person, millinery lesson in the 12 months prior to May 15, 2025
- You can enter, regardless of skill level, materials experience or areas of interest eg: costume, bridal, racing millinery, street millinery, fashion or couture
- Millinery Australia student member entrants will be offered the opportunity for a 2-hour online or phone mentorship with a Fellow Member of Millinery Australia which must be used before May 5, 2025
- If you are not yet an Millinery Australia member you may join here to be eligible for this opportunity and receive the discounted entry fee
- Each entry must:
- be created exclusively for this competition
- not have previously featured in any social media campaigns or print media
- be the student’s own original design
- be made entirely by the student

EDUCATION EXPERIENCES
- Private 90 minute zoom class/demo tailored for the student with Louise Macdonald
- A 12 month subscription to Studio+ courtesy of Elaine Mergard from Hat Academy
- Online video course and one hour 1:1 millinery mentor session with Rebecca Share from Hat Atelier
ENTRY
- One entry per student
- Members: $35 + pre-paid postage label for return of entry
- Non-members: $50 + pre-paid postage label for return of entry
- Registration opens: March 8, 2025
- Registrations close: May 10, 2025 by 5pm
- Closing date for entries: May 15, 2025 by 5pm
- No entry will be accepted after this time
- Terms and Conditions and Registration Form are part of the entry and must be adhered to
