Get Street Smart 2: Active Travel training for girls aged 15-18 years
1 hour + Urban Survival physical training 4 hoursÂ
Venue option A - Queenstown Saturday 19th October 9.30am start.
Venue option B - Frankton Saturday 26th October 9.30am start.
As an independent young woman, your daughter may be confidently using active travel. However, issues can happen and our girls aged 15 - 18 years need to know how to respond.
Groups are limited to a maximum of 12 participants and snacks will be provided.
During this short course, participants will learn about:
- Staying safe physically, assessing threat and responding appropriately using the Urban Survival training framework
- How to use active travel safely at night
- Making decisions under pressure & assertiveness training
- Using technology to help keep them and others safe
Course Facilitators
Amanda Robinson is a registered teacher who has worked with teenagers for more than 20 years, and continues to work in Education. She’s also the General Manager of Queenstown-based active travel charity, The Lightfoot Initiative.Â
Sensei Pat Quaid is a registered secondary school teacher and owner of the Shukokai Karate dojo in Queenstown. He is an experienced Urban Survival trainer.
