Strengthening Communities in Tamaki Makaurau - Hui

A warm thank you to those of you who have participated in our survey, 1-1 and group conversations. Overwhelmingly you said you wanted to talk more and this next hui is a space to address the question of how to build stronger communities in Tāmaki Makaurau. 

This hui is open to everyone whether you have participated in the earlier work or not. There is no cost to attend.

The hui will reflect and build on findings of what ‘good; looks like for strong communities, with a focus on how we get there over the next 10 years as well as how we can demonstrate the value the community sector and strong communities add locally and regionally.

There will be many ways to do both of these! So, this hui is space for all kinds of thinking around good community practice, values to come together and create shared understandings of what contributes to community strength and some next steps to take. We’d love to see you there.

Join us on 5 December for a shared kai while we focus on:

· Exploring collaboration opportunities and new ways of working together as regional communities.

· Developing a mosaic of good community practice and values.

· Understanding the impacts of Council budget cuts and having a say in how these processes might happen.

· Strategically navigating a changing system at both local and national levels.

Our programme has been designed based on the thoughts and contributions made in our recent regional survey. We will share a short report and insights on our findings at the hui and provide interactive opportunities for developing these further
