In this Masterclass, distinguished governance leaders; Dr Alison Taylor, Caren Rangi, Dan Te Whenua Walker & together with special guests Rere Hammond & Monica Briggs from the Child Cancer Foundation; will share their experiences, perspectives and tools on building strong and sustaining shared leadership relationships.

About our Speakers
Dr Alison Taylor
Alison most recently served as Te Kaihiringa CEO of Te Taumata Toi-a-Iwi, the Auckland Regional Arts Trust. She brings nearly three decades of experience in governance and leadership, including as the founding CEO of the Centre for Social Impact and former CEO of the Mental Health Foundation. Alison has contributed across multiple community and philanthropic boards, guided by a commitment to collaboration, innovation, and leadership that honours the communities these organisations serve. Alison now works with Caren as part of Enabling Leadership a new business focused on working with social purpose and philanthropic entities to build leadership and governance capability, strategic intent, foster innovation, and enable stronger boards, empowered leaders, and greater community impact.
Caren Rangi, ONZM, FCA (Rakahanga, Rarotonga, Aitutaki, Tongareva)
Of Cook Islands Māori descent, Caren is a highly respected governance leader recognised for her service to Pacific communities and Aotearoa. She chairs Pacific Homecare Services, is Deputy Chair of the Pacific Co-operation Broadcasting Ltd (Pasifika TV), Pro Chancellor of Massey University Council and is a Director of NZ Rugby. Caren is known for bringing the voices, perspectives, and needs of her people to board tables with integrity and mana, strengthening governance practices while staying deeply connected to her identity, whānau, and community.
Dan Te Whenua Walker (Tangahoe, Ngāti Ruanui, Ngā Ruahinerangi, Ngāti Kahungunu ki Wairoa, Te Ātiawa, Maniapoto, Tūhourangi)
Dan is Global Co-Chair of Indigenous at Microsoft, Chair of Child Cancer Foundation and Deputy Chair of NZ Māori Tourism. His leadership is grounded in whakapapa and guided by the teachings of his iwi, elders, and whānau. He brings a unique perspective that weaves together tikanga Māori, Indigenous wisdom, and modern governance frameworks. With extensive governance roles across Aotearoa. He was recently recognised as the 2025 New Zealand Leader of the Year and recipient of the Rangatiratanga Tōtara award recognising Māori leadership. Dan is committed to long-term intergenerational change that uplifts whānau, hapū, and iwi while influencing global conversations in technology and leadership.
