     Learn all about:
    - creative ways to make the hard work into an expressive and happy time for yourself and your students 
    - get to know a helpful sequence of studies, etudes, technical books, scales, exams syllabus, and a guide to early, intermediate and advanced repertoire
    - awesomely simple ways to teaching reliable preparation of all bowing strokes, left hand & shifting
    - the importance of listening, tone, phrasing and expression and how to get there!
    - the foundations of great ensemble playing
    - in-depth insights for teaching to various age and ability groups in detailed (and fun) demonstrations, explanations, forums and round table discussion of all aspects of playing bowed strings 

    Bring your ideas, questions, editions, teaching plans, a pen & notepad...and your instruments! 
Each workshop includes a few minutes of simple approaches to relaxation and wellbeing from our "Tension Tamers!" workshop series.

    Rupert Guenther holds a B Mus in Violin Performance from University of Melbourne. He studied with Harry Hutchins (a student of Carl Flesch), then attended masterclasses with European violin pedagogue Professor Igor Ozim and studied extensively with two of Igor Ozim’s proteges Brian Finlayson and Helfried Fister in Austria. He is also influenced by Norwegian violinist Terje Moe Hansen’s all-interval approach to string playing.

    Afternoon tea provided.

    Cost: $50, $40 conc, $25 students & AUSTA members (not including booking fee)
