about
String Valley also known as the Imbil acoustic music festival
The acoustic music weekend began in 1993. When a group of friends came together to share their love of traditional acoustic styles – ranging from old time and bluegrass to Celtic Western swing gypsy Jazz and beyond. In its early days the gathering was primarily a jamming weekend. Friends would swap tunes and stories late into the night. Overtime the weekend grew to include a Saturday night concert and workshops led by the very musicians who had music to share.
We wish to continue this vision and format. Weekends with the emphasis on sessions and musicianship development rather than just entertainment for spectators.
