Strong Girls, Strong Futures – Zonta Bendigo International Day of the Girl 2026
Description
STRONG GIRLS, STRONG FUTURES
This International Day of the Girl, the Zonta Club of Bendigo invites girls and women to join us for a morning of stories, conversation and possibility. Meet two accomplished women whose journeys began right here in Bendigo.
Dr Bree Wright is a Bendigo-raised scientist with a PhD in Biochemistry and Genetics, Paralympian and international para-athlete. Bree represented Australia in wheelchair basketball at the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games and now competes internationally in Para Badminton.
Amelia Campagnaro is a Bendigo-raised physiotherapist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. A former National Premier League soccer player and Victorian futsal representative, Amelia’s curiosity has also taken her to Space Camp in the USA.
Bree and Amelia will share the stories behind their achievements – the opportunities they took, challenges they encountered, things that didn’t go according to plan and the unexpected directions their lives have taken. They’ll then come together for a relaxed conversation where participants can ask their own questions.
Whether you already have big ideas about your future or have absolutely no idea where it might take you, you’re welcome.
For girls and women aged 10 years+. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The formal program concludes at approximately 11.15am, followed by light morning tea and an opportunity to continue the conversation informally.
