Description

Got something you make, grow or know how to do?

This is the night you find out what it takes to turn it into an income.

Prue Button is a chartered accountant and businesswoman with years behind her in business, agriculture and regional development. She has spent a lot of time with rural women who have a good idea and no clear first step. This session is that first step, and it is practical from start to finish.

What Prue will cover

From idea to income. Which of your skills, hobbies and strengths people will actually pay for, and how to test an idea before you commit real time or money to it.

Pricing and value. What to charge for handmade goods and services once you have counted materials, time and overheads, and why underpricing costs you more than it wins you.

Getting started without the overwhelm. Hobby or business, when you need an ABN and when you don't, and business structures explained in plain words.

Bookkeeping and money. What to record, simple systems that work (a notebook counts), and keeping business money separate from the family account.

The money side of a small business. Profit versus cash, managing income that arrives unevenly, the tax basics, and knowing when to ask for help.

Selling it out here. Markets and community events, local shops, social media, and why you don't need a website to make your first sale.

Confidence. The barriers that stop most women starting, and how small steps turn into momentum.

Who it's for

Any women with skills, ideas and big potential. You might already be selling, you might have a side hustle ticking along, or you might just have a thought you have never said out loud. All welcome.
