Description

Switch up your wardrobe at our sustainable fashion swap. Dig out those good quality pieces that aren’t getting the love they deserve, soak up some sustainable fashion inspiration, then hit the racks to find some new pre-loved treasures. Leave with one-of-a-kind pieces that are kinder to your wallet and the planet.

How does the swap work?

  • Grab your $20 ticket.

  • Bring up to 10 items of clothing, handbags and shoes in great condition that you’d be happy to pass on to someone else. We won’t be accepting fast fashion brands like SHEIN, Temu or ANKO that are made quickly and cheaply and not designed to last long. Good quality Glassons, Cotton On and similar are welcome.

  • Drop your clothes off at one of our sessions (see below) - and we’ll hand you your swap tokens on the spot.

  • Nothing to swap, or used all your tokens? No problem - additional items can be purchased for $5 per item. Please note: cash only, so come prepared! A few special pieces may be priced a little higher on the day.

When can I drop things off?

  • Monday 28 September 11.00am – 2.00pm Hastings District Council - 207 Lyndon Road East, Hastings.

  • Tuesday 29 September 2.00pm – 4.00pm Hastings District Council - 207 Lyndon Road East, Hastings.

  • Tuesday 29 September 5.00pm – 7.00pm Hastings Library - 201 Eastbourne Street East, Hastings.

  • Wednesday 30 September 11.00am – 2.00pm Hastings District Council - 207 Lyndon Road East, Hastings.

  • Thursday 01 October 4.00pm – 6.00pm Hastings Library - 201 Eastbourne Street East, Hastings.

  • On the day - drop your items off at the Havelock Scout Hall between 10am and 3pm

For drop-off sessions at the Hastings District Council, come up the main stairs into Customer Services and there will be a sign showing you where to go on the day.

When do I arrive?

Doors open at 5:45pm. At 6pm we’ll dive in with a bit of sustainable fashion inspo before the swap begins.

What happens to leftover clothes?

Anything that doesn’t find a new home on the day will be donated to op shops around the Hastings district.

Where does the money go?

Any proceeds from the event will go to a local charity involved with textile rescue.

This event is part of The Great Textile Rescue and is thanks to support from Waste Levy funding from Hastings District Council.

Photographs and video will be taken at the event and may be used for publicity purposes.
