Suara Dance X Langen Suka have collaborated to bring you an afternoon of traditional and contemporary music and dance from Java.
Langen Suka Gamelan Music Inc. is an association dedicated to traditional Javanese gamelan music. In Java, gamelan is viewed as a representation of an ideal and harmonious society in which each individual plays an integral part according to their own character, talents and abilities.
Suara Dance is a NSW based Indonesian contemporary and traditional dance and music company with their studio located in Marrickville. They regularly tour nationally and internationally.
Suara Dance X Langen Suka will present a concert style event performing repertoire from both groups as well as collaborative new works that include live gamelan accompanied by live dance.
