Join us for the Subiaco Community Men's Shed (SCMS) tour and repair day
Date: Friday, 11 April
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: Subiaco Community Men’s Shed, Rear/363 Bagot Rd, Subiaco WA 6008
Come along for a fun, hands-on day filled with exciting opportunities to learn, connect, and make repairs! Whether you have a broken chair, a toy that needs fixing, or a lamp in need of some TLC, the SCMS team is here to help.
What’s happening:
- Repair station: Our SCMS members will be available to repair your furniture, toys, lamps, metal items, and more! Limit of one item per person. Please note, no upholstery, electrical items, or textile/sewing work will be accepted.
- Show & Tell: Get inspired and see some of the incredible projects SCMS has worked on – and maybe pick up some tips for your next DIY!
- Workshop tour: Take a guided tour of the SCMS workshop in small groups, where you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the tools and techniques SCMS use.
- Subiaco Women’s Shed: The Women's Shed will also be present with their own table featuring a display of items of interest and information about their organisation.
Important information:
- Parking: Please note, on-site parking is unavailable, but there is three-hour paid street parking available nearby.
- Footwear: For safety reasons, please wear closed shoes.
- Free repairs: Want to bring an item for repair? Register for a free voucher. Only 40 free repair vouchers are available, so be sure to secure yours early!
- Repair assessment: On the day, SCMS will assess your item and let you know if the repair is covered by the City of Subiaco’s donation (free repair vouchers) or if an additional out-of-pocket fee is required due to the complexity of the repair work (you can then choose whether you want to proceed with the repair).
No ticket is required to attend the Show & Tell or workshop tour – it’s an open day for everyone! But don’t forget to register for a free repair voucher if you’re bringing an item to be fixed.
