Submission Under the Spotlight

Submission is a wildly mythologised practice still effected by out-dated gender roles and more recently by the radfem idea that women (in particular) are all victims in a BDSM dynamic.

For anyone interested in the realities of submission in a BDSM context, we are convening this Forum so you can hear from those with experience as professional and personal players about their journey into submission, and the various ways this identity affects them. Whether you’re a Top wanting to enhance your understanding of and communication with the submissives in your life, or a submissive wanting to connect and learn from those who identify in a similar way, this Forum will have something for you.

Our MC, MisKnickers (they/them she/her) will interview a diverse panel of THREE insightful submissives about their activity within the BDSM lifestyle – both personal and professional – examining the physical, mental, and emotional skills required to keep yourself safe and content while keeping your Dominants and Tops engaged and satisfied. We will discuss the importance of negotiation, consent, risk assessment, and self-care and examine some of the ways we can avoid dangerous players. We will also consider the impact of the wider community – both kink and vanilla – on the submissive identity.

Our panelists include:

• Active kinkster, Twitchy Sub (he/him), a service-oriented slave owned for seven years by Mistress Zoe Demure in a Total Power Exchange dynamic.
• Professional submissive, Marina Lee (she/her they/them), who excels in providing a space in which Dominant personas can thrive.
• Service submissive, Kate Pet (they/them), known for their service to both individuals and establishments, including the incredible Spirit Kink

The evening will also incorporate a Q & A where our audience will have an opportunity to ask their own questions, and some informal social time to grab a cuppa and have a chat about in a more personal way.

• Those choosing Seated Ticketing will not have a seat allocated, but are encouraged to find a seat suitable for them upon arrival.
  
• If choosing the Standing or Floor Space option, you are welcome to bring along a cushion/pillow for your comfort.
• Light snacks will be provided on the night, but please feel free to bring along anything that fits your dietary requirements.
• Complimentary tea, coffee, and water are available to you at any time. If you require any other drinks, please BYO.
• You are welcome to BYO alcohol, but only drink in moderation.
• The event incorporates a half hour break after the first hour where you are welcome to eat, drink, and socialise amongst yourselves and with our panelists.
• Doors open at 7pm and the event will begin at 7.15pm.
• Late arrivals will be permitted entry, but we will not be repeating any content.
