Carbon Too Much

Description

If you can’t make it to three days of musical bliss at Subsonic this year — or you’ve somehow still got a little pep left in your step when it’s all over — don’t worry, we’ve got you sorted.

The Official Subsonic Afterparty is here to keep the good times rolling. 🔊🌀

We’re bringing three huge international acts to the stage, backed up by a carefully selected crew of Sydney favourites and local legends, for our final session of the year, celebrating the sounds that brings us all together.

We’ve got some seriously special stage designs in the works, surrounded by a plethora of weird, wonderful and mind-melting décor to transform the space into something completely out of the ordinary. 👁️✨

Danley. Lots of Danley. 🔊

Both stages will be powered by Danley Sound Labs, delivering some of the finest point-source sound on the planet — crystal-clear highs, deep rolling lows and enough weight behind it to remind your body that the weekend definitely isn’t over yet.

So whether you missed the festival, survived all three days and somehow still have fuel in the tank, or simply refuse to accept that the party has to end…

Come lose yourself with us one last time for the year.

🌐 Three internationals
🔊 Two Danley-powered stages
🌀 Mind-melting production
👽 Plenty of weirdness
✨ One final dance

CARBON -

Through love for the beat, a big sound and plenty of perseverance, Carbon from Hamburg, Germany has built himself a solid spot in the spectrum of electronic music. This is evident in his journey, which did not lead him down the trodden path of a DJ career, but towards his role as a producer, in which he has released countless EPs and finally his album "Wild Signals".

Having been active as a producer for over 15 years to this day, the artist Carbon emerged in 2007. He has been in strong demand at the clubs and festivals of the world ever since, and was lucky enough to share the stage with greats like Sama' Abdulhadi, Oliver Huntemann, Richie Hawtin and Township Rebellion.

Carbon has many releases to his name, including collaborations with Senso Sounds, Moonbootique, Soupherb Records, and of course under his own in-house label Alula Tunes, which at this point has established itself and consistently features in the Beatport Charts. Carbon released more high-quality work under the moniker "Art Factory - Laika & Strelka".

The style of Carbon can be described as Progressive Minimal, armed with a huge arena vibe and a hefty serving of captivating grooves. Deep, emotional melodies break out of a dark atmosphere, straight to the heart of the listener.  Synths wobble somewhere between familiar, emotionally charged, cool and funky. Tight drums and plenty manipulated samples load up the atmosphere with suspense. Through all of this, the music of Carbon consistently delivers one thing: constant forward drive that persistently pulls you to the dancefloor.  Somewhat on the complex side compared to similar tunes, one can feel that this music is made, not just for the mind, but for the heart. It's firmly rooted in its home and offers an excellent opportunity to let loose, dive in and forget about everything around you.

BANEL -

Michael Banel's journey into electronic music began in the early 1990s, immersed in Copenhagen's underground party scene. What started as a fascination with collecting vinyl records quickly evolved into a passion for DJing, spending countless hours behind the decks, shaping his sound and initial DJ career.

As the scene continued to grow, so did his ambitions. A chance meeting with fellow music enthusiast Emok sparked a creative partnership that would prove to be a defining moment. Together they started to build a studio, shared a vision for pushing underground electronic music forward and laid the foundation for what would become Iboga Records.

At the same time, Michael was part of a crew organizing both small and large-scale warehouse and outdoor events, helping create a vibrant platform for the emerging electronic music community. These experiences opened doors to an international network of artists, producers, and promoters, helping Iboga Records gain momentum from its very first releases.

What began as a label showcasing local talent soon expanded far beyond Copenhagen and quickly established itself as a home for groundbreaking artists from around the world. Over the years, it grew into one of the most respected and influential independent labels in the underground electronic music scene, earning a reputation for consistently championing innovation and quality.

More than three decades later, Iboga Records remains as active and forward-thinking as ever. Alongside its sister imprint, Ibogatech, the label continues to release a diverse spectrum of cutting-edge techno and psy-trance while Michael continues to perform internationally, bringing his decades of experience and deep musical knowledge to clubs and festivals across the globe.

Today Michael Banel has sharpened his focus towards DJ'ing Psy/PeakTime Techno while establishing Ibogatech firmly within the same universe.

During 2014-2024 Michael Banel was part of the duo MVMB with Martin Vice, releasing two full-length albums as well as a string of singles, EP´s and compilations.

The project still today spawns new fresh interpretations from various prolific techno artists alike.
