Substances and Play

We all hear on repeat, don’t mix substances with play because it is dangerous. This class goes over exactly Why it is dangerous, what the risk profile looks like on common substances, and what ways we can mitigate risk and navigate consent if you do choose to mix the two. This is a safety, information, and risk mitigation oriented class. This class does Not condone or encourage the mixture of intoxication and play but rather evaluates the potential risks and dangers.

In this class we will be going over the following -
★ Why people may mix substances and play
★ Why is it is generally considered high risk to do so
★ A variety of substances and medications, why people do them, and the
major risks associated with them individually pertaining to overlap with kink and consent
★ Risk considerations and approaches if you do intend to mix substances and play

What this will not go over -
★ Nuances of every particular substance
★ Harm reduction training or overdose response
★ Safe substance combinations
★ Demonizing substance users

The presenter does provide links to outside resources that people can learn more about on their own for the subjects that the material is not focused on.

Additionally, everyone who participates in the class (either live or download) will receive a link to a hidden webpage with the information as well as a PDF copy of a zine with the same information to keep with them. The webpage is not available to the general public without the link for this class specifically.

The Presenter

My name is @OrionVerse, and I am a kink, sex and sexuality educator based out of the East Coast, USA. I have been in the kink/BDSM scene since 2016 and have found my passion in continuously learning, growing, playing, and teaching. I believe strongly in engaging with and helping build up my community.

I have been teaching since 2018, and community organizing since 2022. I have taught in local community groups, at kink and sexuality conventions as well as one-on-one. In my local community I currently help co-organize TNG, host Depravity, a queer oriented dungeon, as well as organize a kink and sexuality outreach group called Fuck Around And Find Out.

I am Queer and Transgender, these aspects of my identity influence my perspective and it is important to me to be able to have a voice for and create space for the queer community.

In my relationships I am a polyamorous Switch with several partners who I adore. I love engaging with a large variety of play with others whether that be exploring interpersonal connection or finding the limits of one another. I have a particular love of rope, edgeplay, impact, and designing scenes that are hyper specific to the individual I am with.

In my personal life, I spend time in my local kink community, attending regional burns, hiking in nature, creating art (Photography, painting, illustration, installation pieces) and traveling.
