6:30pm screening starts with discussions to follow

Film: Jennifer's Body (2009)
Director: Karyn Kusama
Run Time: 102 mins
Language: English with subtitles
Synopsis: When Jennifer, the local it-girl, returns from a night out with an indie-rock band; her best friend "Needy" suspects something sinister has taken hold of her and the town.

A true cult-classic that has only grown more relevant as an underrated feminist film, this blends horror, dark-comedy and gore into a sharp-witted story about friendship, desire and female rage.

About Subtitles Film Club

Subtitles is built from our love of cinema and meaningful conversations.

Whether you’re into Ingmar Bergman or Greta Gerwig, our screenings focus on films that linger and offer different perspectives.

Subtitles are always on! To quote Bong Joon-ho, once you overcome the one-inch tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films.

Each screening will be followed by a guided debrief in small groups. Curiosity is encouraged, no film degree required!

Come solo or with friends, leave with new ones (and a few Letterboxd mutuals).
