Succah Build Working Bee 2024
Event description
At Adamama, we are deeply intertwined with the Jewish harvest festival of Succot.
During the week-long festival of Succot, we spend time in an impermanent ‘home’ known as a ‘Succah’. This evokes the temporary dwellings the Israelites inhabited on their way out of Egypt. The Succah is a walled structure covered with organic material.
Join us for this special working bee as we put up this ‘home away from home’. We will make walls and create a roof from organic material (called ‘Schach’).
To make the Succah even more special, we will create and add a few unique decorations in a kids' and parents' craft session on Monday, October 14th. For more details and to register for the craft session, please go to the event page.
So come on down to Adamama, your favourite urban farm, and let’s start preparing for the harvest Festival of Succot.
