Event description

Join us for a discussion about founding a business, experiencing immense success, having a succession plan, and knowing when it's time to step away.

Annette Kaitinis has done it all with Scoot Boot, including winning some seriously impressive awards. The business now ships to customers across 90 countries and is one of Tasmania's leading exporters.

However, Annette has recently announced she will be stepping down as CEO and taking on a new role with the company.

Through conversation with WNA CEO Cheryl Gray, find out more about Annette's business journey and how she knew it was time for a change.

About Annette Kaitinis

Co-founder and CEO of Scoot Boot™, Annette Kaitinis LLB LLM is one of Tasmania’s leading exporters supplying equine hoof boots to customers across 90 countries.

Having led a successful legal career as a litigation lawyer and then barrister, Annette established Scoot Boot™ in 2015 with fellow co-founder and farrier Dave Macdonald.

The business has grown exponentially since, having entered new markets, expanding their product range and establishing distribution partners in the US and in Europe.

Annette has been the key driver of the business taking it from start-up phase to become a leading ‘tech-quine’ e-commerce enterprise with a multi-million-dollar turnaround.

Annette is a true Tasmanian and was born and bred on the island where she grew up with horses from a young age. Her passion for the wellbeing of horses was her motivation to launch Scoot Boot™ hoof boots which are a healthier alternative to iron shoes.

Annette’s vision is to advance the barefoot movement globally as she continues to disrupt the 2000-year-old tradition of nail on shoes.

Annette is an active member of the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), Tasmania Information, Communication and Technology (TASICT), and the Australian Women’s Network. She is a sought after speaker, panellist and judge supporting women in business.
