MEET SUE
Sue Williams is a best-selling author and an award-winning journalist and travel writer. She has written 31 books, including three works of historical fiction. Her first historical novel was based on the early colonial days of Australia, Elizabeth & Elizabeth, about a friendship between Elizabeth Macquarie and Elizabeth Macarthur. Her second was That Bligh Girl, about Mary Bligh, the daughter of notorious Mutiny on the Bounty naval officer William Bligh who became the Governor of NSW until unseated by Australia’s first and only military coup. Her most recent is The Governor, His Wife and His Mistress, about the third governor, Philip Gidley King, and his incredibly tortured private life, the betrayals and loves, triumphs and tribulations.
Williams’ previous non-fiction books include Run For Your Life, about a family who hid out in Australia’s remote Dampier Peninsula for three and a half years to escape threats from the Russian Kremlin, Under Her Skin, the Story of Professor Fiona Wood, Mean Streets, Kind Heart: The Father Chris Riley Story, Father Bob, the Larrikin Priest, The Girl Who Climbed Everest, Healing Lives, Daughter of the River Country, and a number of books about outback characters.
