Sultry Solstice is a safe space for all colours of expression. We count on everyone to show up with an open heart and respect for each other.  This event will be held on Gadigal country. Sovereignty was never ceded, always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

We gather in honour of First Nations traditions of weaving histories through the spoken word, through song lines.

Sultry Soltice will include a special screening of  'Love & Revolution'

Together with human rights lawyer/poet Sara Saleh, LGBTQIA+ and friends, we made this video honouring her. It features the first paste-up of a mural for Candy Royalle. The second mural can be seen upstairs at the Rattler.Dir/Producer Jax North, Camera Jamie James, Mural by @Ms.Saffaa based on a photographic portrait by Nicola Bailey,  Gaza video journalist Hind Khoudary.

2023 marks 5 years since we lost Candy. Nicola Bailey described Royalle’s final show at the Red Rattler as “mind-blowing. She delivered her performance with the same fierce and uplifting power as she did all of her shows. There was a standing ovation and the crowd roared her name over and over again at the end; some people cried,” Bailey told The Guardian.
