Field Notes: Exploring Sculptures Together
Part of Sculpture in the Gardens 2025
Fun Nature Workshop for Kids of ALL AGES (yes adults are allowed)

Join us for a delightful workshop blending creativity and nature! Start by crafting your own mini-notebook, then set off on a walk inspired by sculptures and surroundings, using prompts to fill your pages with stories or drawings.

ALL WELCOME: Perfect for tamariki, whānau, and anyone curious about art and storytelling.
Note: Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.

  • Create Your Notebook: Begin by designing and assembling your unique mini-book.
  • Discover and Explore: Take a guided walk to spark creativity and gather ideas.
  • Fill Your Pages: Use drawing or storytelling prompts to bring your notebook to life.

Take your creation home or add it to our pop-up library to share with others!

Facilitator:

Emma Hinton is an experienced storyteller and facilitator who transitioned from a 25-year film career to publish Finding Grace Kimihia a Grace, a bilingual picture book. She founded The Light Library, curating workshops and books to nurture fellow creatives while rediscovering her Ngāti Maniapoto roots. Emma lives in Waitākere, Auckland, with her daughter and serves as a Celebrant, sharing real-life stories. She is passionate about the power of storytelling to shape our future and well-being.
