Event description

Celebrate the end of summer holidays and Raumati Reads with a delightful morning of entertainment for the entire whānau at Olympic Park!

Join the festivities hosted by the New Lynn Community Hub, Avondale Library, and Blockhouse Bay Library teams as they invite you to a fun-filled morning near the playground at Olympic Park.

Start the morning with a fantastic Puppet Show at 10.15am performed by Hands Alive, then from 11am onwards Captain Festus McBoyle and Mr Ebenezer Strong will be out about offering up a variety of delightful and hilarious entertainment play music, telling stories, and jokes, along with games. Along with a free sausage sizzle, face painting and Hungerball!

Explore the library bus and the fire truck, participate in games with Play Ball Active, enjoy the company of special guests, engage in giant games, and much more. Don't forget to bring your sunhat and water bottle for a sun-soaked morning of enjoyment.

Plan your travel in advance by checking the AT transport website to find the best way to reach the park, as parking will not be available at Olympic Park.

You can walk from the New Lynn Transport Centre or take bus number 24R, or find alternative off-road parking on Portage Road.
In case of rain, the event will be moved to the New Lynn Community Centre at 45 Totara Avenue, New Lynn, maintaining the same date and time.
