SUN RUN + SOCIETY OF CUTTING UP MEN + HARLAND RUST + GOETHE @ Elton Chong Dive Bar

Event description

Noise and hardcore in at the foot of the Blue Mountains! Sun Run have put together an incredible lineup featuring Goethe and touring noise acts Society of Cutting Up Men and Harland Rust!

Sunday Sept 8, 4pm. $15, no one turned away for lack of funds. Elton Chong Dive Bar, Penrith.

Sun Run blends elements of post-hardcore, punk and alt-rock, while retaining their emo and DIY roots in delivery, sentiment, and ethos. They recently completed their first domestic tour in support of three-track Crossing, their third release recorded with Ian Farmer and Zack Robbins at The Metal Shop in Phila, PA.

The Society of Cutting Up Men (S.C.U.M) is a bad omen of primordial darkness that has lost her way and ended up in this so-called dimension. An aural executioner, S.C.U.M forges her own space through audio assault, piercing sonic frequencies, and abhorrent noise. An ode to magic in all its forms - women, rage, movies, community and collaboration S.C.U.M. uses industrial materials to inflict pain upon her audience and piss people off.

Aging outlaws Harland Rust emerge from hiding, noise mutations borne of swirling Kansas dust and a sick fixation on “The Cat in the Hat” (2003). Motivated at first by the pressures of long-distance collaboration and the urgent need to rescue their nephew from wrongful execution, Harland Rust’s purview has inflated, exploring the dross of pop culture through samples forced to eat themselves, burnt purple slime, and fried electronics.

Goethe, based on Wangal and Gadigal land, play searing and bestial fastcore, decked out with tooth-grinding tempo changes and throat scraping vocals. Get your two-stepping shoes on and don't miss them.
