Sunday Calm-Abiding Meditation Session 18 October
Description
Join us each Sunday at 2pm for a Free Calm-Abiding Meditation Session at the Sakya Temple of Peace in Kambah, Canberra.
These free meditation sessions are a great way to keep up your practice with others in the beautiful environment of the Sakya Temple of Peace. They are also suitable if you are trying out meditation for the first time.
The guided meditation will be followed by a short talk - this Sunday Rachel O'Rourke, one of our long-time senior students, will be talking on “Buddhist Wisdom for Dealing with Sickness and Pain.”
Buddhism provides some wonderful insights into ways of dealing with the inevitable experiences of human life, including sickness and pain. Rachel will share how we can use our own experiences of sickness and pain on the spiritual path, to increase the virtues of acceptance, gratitude and compassion.
There are cushions and chairs available for use and everyone is welcome to attend. Please stay afterwards for a cup of tea and a chat!
We appreciate your donations to attend these sessions so that we can continue to offer them free of charge.
