Creating Your “When I Die” Box

Please note the october 4 date, we had to postpone as Meredith our facilitator is needing to recover from this nasty influenza

Have you ever thought about what happens after you're gone, not just in terms of legacy, but in the practical sense? Sorting through paperwork, making arrangements, and ensuring your wishes are honoured can be an overwhelming task for loved ones.

A “When I die” box is a gift to those you leave behind, because all the information needed is in one place, including, or rather especially, your wishes about what you want to happen when you are no longer there.

Facilitated by Meredith, this Sunday Times gathering, invites you to explore the process of preparing a “When I Die” box.

“I started creating my “When I die” box after helping my Mum sort things out following the death of my Dad. There were so many details to attend to, and it was pretty chaotic at a difficult time.

My “When I die” box is still a work in progress and probably will be until I die, but I have come to realise how much it is also a gift to myself. It has encouraged me to think about things that are important to me, beyond my own lifetime. And, of course, I now know where all those important documents are kept, all together!

At this event, I will share with you what I have done so far, and the resources I have used. You will go home with my list of possible things to include, as well as other useful ideas.”
