ABOUT THE EVENT

This workshop provides an introduction to staging intimacy, exploring consent, the role of an intimacy coordinator, and techniques for creating safe, authentic scenes that align with the director’s vision. Ideal for anyone involved in theatre or filmmaking, this workshop highlights how to create a respectful, communicative and collaborative approach to intimate storytelling.

The workshop will cover:

WHO: Who is involved in navigating consent to create a safe creative environment
WHAT: What is intimacy
WHEN: When should you discuss intimacy and get an intimacy co-ordinator
WHERE: Where does an intimacy coordinator fit into the process
WHY: Why do you need an intimacy co-ordinator and what is their role

Please note: this workshop does not qualify you as an intimacy coordinator and is intended as an intro to the practise only.

ABOUT THE COACH

Rebecca (she/her) is a certified Australian intimacy coordinator trained by top industry professionals from the UK and US. She was amongst the first group of professionals to train in Australia with Ita O’Brien in 2018 (Sex Education, Normal People). In 2022 she travelled to New York to complete her certification with IDC, under the guidance of her mentor Claire Warden (Broadway, Gossip Girl) and Alicia Rodis (HBO).

Rebecca has worked on many film, TV, web and theatre productions as an intimacy coordinator, including: A Good Boy (Film), Flunk (Youtube Series), Dark Arcadia (Web Series) & Torch Song (Theatre); full CV available upon request. She has also hosted multiple intimacy workshops for organisations such as: RMIT, Howard Fine Acting Studio and Drama Victoria; educating actors, film makers, directors and teachers on intimacy and consent practices in Australia.

Rebecca’s 20+ year acting career enhances and informs her work as an intimacy coordinator because of her considerable experience on set, on stage and in the rehearsal room, working on a variety of projects.
