Join Nature Conservation Margaret River Region for the second event in our Big Dry two-part series.

Having just gone through the “driest seven-month spell on record” we will hear from Dr Joe Fontaine (Disturbance Ecologist, Murdoch University), Senior Research Scientist at ANSTO, Dr Pauline Treble who is leading critical research concerning the impacts of climate change on groundwater recharge, as well as Suzanne Strapp, who has been on the front line of wildlife impacts this past summer in her role as President of FAWNA.

After hearing from DWER, Water Corp and the latest on our local water management including the Wooditjup Bilya / Margaret River at our July event... this time we dig deeper into forest and vegetation dieoff.

We hope you can join us to hear from these experts in their field speaking on the importance of our forests and remnant vegetation and the implications, management and response required in light of the widespread vegetation dieoff experienced during the Summer and Autumn of 2024.

Having embarked on her next important film (titled Browned Off) Documentary Filmmaker Jane Hammond (Black Cockatoo Crisis) will join us for the audience Q and A.

Enjoy light supper, a drink, audience Q and A and become part of the conversation.

This Sundowner event is made possible via funding from the Shire of Augusta Margaret River and sponsorship from the Margaret River Wine Association.
