Join comic maker Nathan Vass Viney for a FREE two part comic making workshop!

You will hone your skills to create your own original comic to be published in the brand new Sunset City Comic Anthology, debuting as part of the 2026 Perth Comic Arts Festival hosted at the State Library of Western Australia on July 26th.

🗓 Part 1 : Saturday May 16th | Part 2 : Saturday May 23rd | 10am - 4pm

Please note that this is an on-going workshop series and it is essential that participants attend each session to experience the whole mentoring process and complete their project.

ABOUT NATHAN

Nathan Vass Viney is a cartoonist, writer and 2d animator living in Walpole, WA.

Nathan ran a popular Great Southern newspaper comic called Walpole Kids for over 2 years, has worked for BBC Children's television and has produced a selection of comics for WA anthologies.

Nathan also worked as a Creative Practitioner for FORM (Building a State of Creativity) at Walpole Primary School in 2025.

Nathan is also a keen collector of vintage Snoopy comic books.

ABOUT MILKTOOTH SCHOOL OF ART & STORIES

The Milktooth School of Art and Stories is a children’s studio that provides high-quality term long courses and school holiday workshops that are designed to inspire and empower.

Local artists Elizabeth Marruffo and Campbell Whyte founded Milktooth in 2015 with the aim to create the art school they wish existed when they were children.

Milktooth has now grown to be the largest dedicated comics school in the country, with over 600 students taking part in comic-making workshops each year and hundreds of comics printed as a result.
