Course Overview
This engaging three-day in-person training explores supervision models, legal and ethical considerations, and offers interactive activities to keep you involved. Whether you're a new or seasoned supervisor, you'll gain valuable insights and connect with peers.
This 20 CE course meets Montana Board of Behavioral Health requirements for LCSW, LMSW, LCPC, and LMFT supervisors. Open to licensed professionals and pre-licensure candidates, it qualifies those with fewer than three years of licensure to become "Qualified Supervisors" in Montana. (Pre-licensed participants must still obtain their license to supervise.)
Lunch will be provided only on day-one and day-two. Refreshments and snacks will be provided on each day of the training.

Meet Your Helena Training Team

Molly Molloy, DSW, LCSW
Molly Molloy MSW, LCSW is currently associate faculty and the director of field education for the Carroll College MSW Program. She earned her BA and MSW from the University of Montana. She is also a doctoral student at Barry University in the DSW program focusing on trauma-informed supervision strategies for social work students and professionals, with a particular interest in the experience of underrepresented social workers. Molly has worked in the field of interprofessional education, with AHEC (Area Health Education Center) and was the Director of Behavioral Health and the Child Evaluation Center (CEC) at the Southwest Montana Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center that utilized integrated team-based care. Molly also has experience working in politics, a hospital setting, with youth in crisis, in the schools and as a Pediatric, Behavioral Health Specialist. She is trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and more. While in Butte, she was on the leadership committee of the Community Action Team (CAT) working develop a blueprint for a trauma informed and resilient community. She has presented on a variety of topics including Adverse Childhood Experiences, Resiliency, Compassionate Leadership, Self-Compassion, Vicarious trauma, Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid and more to a variety of groups including, businesses, library staff, law enforcement, family services, first responders, teachers, medical and mental health professionals. Prior to graduate school, Molly spent time living in Washington DC and then in Northern Ireland working at Corrymeela, a Peace and Reconciliation center.

Kevin Shon, LCSW
Kevin Shon is an LCSW based out of Helena, Montana. Kevin has practiced across diverse settings from university student counseling centers to acute inpatient behavioral health, both throughout his graduate training and into full licensure. Originally from the east coast, Kevin was born in Washington, D.C. and has lived all throughout the foothills of the Appalachian east, arriving over 6 years ago in Montana via Bellingham, Washington. In addition to being a clinical supervisor, Kevin owns and operates a small private practice, Summits Beyond Counseling, has served as an adjunct instructor for Carroll College (course title: Psychopharmacy for social workers), and also finds time to work as an outdoor professional. Kevin has been a climbing guide for over 17 years, and is passionate about the intersection of human engagement in nature and the therapeutic process. His practice includes nature-based and adventure therapy. He is passionate about both educating future clinical professionals and the incredible journey of growing as clinicians. Kevin is currently the “North Central Regional Representative” on the advisory council for NASW-MT.

Nathan Stahley, LCSW
Nathan is the executive director of the Montana and Idaho Chapters of NASW. With over 15 years of experience working with diverse populations and teams across social service and public health sectors, he has led and supervised individuals and teams, developed programs, and worked directly with clients. Nathan has a Master of Social Work from the University of Montana and recently secured his LCSW. Nathan has facilitated many workshops and trainings across Montana and has spoken at national conferences, including the National Association of County & City Health Officials annual meeting. Nathan has always called Montana home and enjoys hiking, fishing, and watching live music across Big Sky Country.
Other Training Details
There will be two 15-minute breaks each day of the training along with a 30-minute lunch break.
Slides and handout materials will be provided electronically approximately a week before the training.
This course will include the topic of suicide prevention and cover the needed 2-CEs that MT requires.
