Sip, Taste & Explore: North American Amaros at Apothecary Lounge

You know amaro. But what about the bottles being made right here in North America?

For our next Lakeview Social + Supper Club, we’re heading to Apothecary Lounge for an intimate evening of sipping, snacking, and getting a little nerdy about one of the bar world’s most interesting categories.

Apothecary’s beverage team will guide guests through a flight of four North American-made amaros and liqueurs, exploring how producers on this side of the Atlantic are putting their own spin on bitter, herbal, sweet, spiced, and wonderfully complicated drinking traditions.

The evening’s flight will feature Don Ciccio & Figli Amaro Delle Sirene, Licor del Sobador, High Wire Southern Amaro, and Cohasset Punch, with conversation around each pour and plenty of room to ask questions along the way.

And because we would never ask you to drink four mysterious herbal concoctions on an empty stomach, Apothecary’s food team is pairing the evening with a Peruvian chicken and watermelon salad followed by blueberry and goat cheese tarts.

Whether your home bar already contains an alarming number of bitter bottles or you have absolutely no idea what amaro is, this one is designed to be approachable, delicious, and a very fun excuse to spend an evening inside one of Clark Street’s newest cocktail lounges.

Tickets are $55 and include the full tasting flight, both food pairings, tax, and gratuity. Space is extremely limited to just 35 guests. Must be 21+ with a valid ID to atttend. No refunds.
