This workshop aims to increase awareness about the cultural and trauma load carried by First Nation workers, and increase the confidence of managers and colleagues to provide support, as well as encourage a culturally safe environment for First Nation workers navigating mainstream systems.

About the Facilitator:

Sigrid Herring is a proud mother, grandmother and Gomeroi woman with a long history of working with families, managing a range of programs delivering counselling, community development, case management and groupwork programs and services. She has post graduate qualifications in human services and is a published author and illustrator. Sig works providing supervision, wellbeing and training services for teams committed to working with people and families in respectful, reciprocal and trauma informed ways.


About this Workshop: 

This workshop is being made available through the NSW/ACT Home Care Workforce Support Program funded by the Federal Government, delivered by SSI. The workshop has been organised by SSI Diversity Training. We provide learning experiences that transform how people respond to diversity in ways that are thought-provoking, inspire curiosity, and build confidence to engage more effectively with the culturally diverse communities. We support non-government, government, and corporate sectors to meet their inclusion goals. Our experience and expertise are grounded in SSI’s 20+ years of experience as a leading provider of services to multicultural communities.
