Session overview

Inclusion begins within our teams - shaped by the culture, values and relationships between the diverse adults working together to support children and families. When educators feel safe, understood and valued, they are better able to bring their full selves to work and sustain meaningful, responsive practice.

This session explores how early learning services can create flexible, psychologically safe and affirming workplaces where neurodivergent educators feel supported to thrive. Participants are invited to reflect on how workplace culture, communication styles, expectations and systems can either support wellbeing and belonging, or unintentionally create barriers.

The focus is on practical, compassionate approaches that recognise diverse ways of thinking, processing and working, and that value lived experience as a strength. The session supports leaders and teams to build environments that foster wellbeing, retention and professional identity, while strengthening inclusion at an organisational level.

What we’ll explore in this session

During this 2‑hour webinar, we will explore:

  • Common experiences of neurodivergent educators in ECEC

  • How workplace environments can support or hinder wellbeing

  • Practical adjustments that make a meaningful difference

  • Communication approaches that foster psychological safety

  • Leadership practices that value diversity and inclusion

This session supports teams to reflect on inclusion at an organisational level.
