Event description

Specialist social worker and psychosexual therapist Candice Care-Unger from Care Rehab teams up with speech pathologist Jason Bransby-Bell from Insight Rehab to bring you this 3-hour workshop, so you can be more confident in Supporting the Dating Goal

Addressing dating in the context of disability and rehabilitation can sometimes be a bit daunting for clinicians. You know that this goal is important to your client, but you're unsure on how to support them. This workshop is designed to help case managers, support coordinators, other allied health professionals in the fundamentals of supporting our clients’ dating goal.

During this workshop we're going to address supporting clients to meet new people and establish meaningful relationships, what makes for a safe and respectful relationship including how to coach "looking for red flags", addressing ableism, mental health and adjustment, we will explore sexual and personal safety and some of the interpersonal communication skills that are required to successfully navigate dating in the modern world with a disability.
