    Event description

Presented by A Gender Agenda (AGA)

This two-hour workshop is delivered by the ACT’s leading trans, gender diverse and intersex peer support organisation. It is for everyday people and workplaces who want to better understand and support our community, support trans, gender diverse and intersex employees and increase their capacity to provide safe, inclusive and affirming workplaces for them.

We will explore what you need to know about these diverse communities including foundational knowledge covering basic concepts, the LGBTIQA+ acronym, pronouns and language, the unique challenges face at work, practical case studies and engaging discussion, research data and statistics, alongside specific ways your workplace organisation can support trans, gender diverse and intersex staff.

We look at key workplace considerations for providing safe and effective systems of support throughout an individual staff member’s gender journey, having a careful look at workplace best practices and how to support employees who are affirming their gender or transitioning at work. This training also includes Guidelines for ACT Employers - Trans & Gender Diverse Employees in the Workplace and A Toolkit for ACT Employers - Supporting Gender Transition in the Workplace.
