About this course
This course has been designed with support workers in mind. It aims to provide support workers with skills and knowledge to understand food, support clients to make healthy choices, meal plan and shop on a budget.
Topics include:
Rainbow on the plate
Understanding food labels
Food shopping tips
Eating healthy on a small budget
Meal Planning
Practical support strategies
Course delivery
The course is delivered online via a zoom meeting; participants will be provided with practical scenarios to consider and apply practical skills learnt. The course is delivered over 4 hours and participants must have cameras on during the full period of the training. Break out room functions are utilised during the training.
About your facilitators
Jillian Sison BHSc(NutDMed) – Clinical Nutritionist - Jillian is the owner of Sisonal Nutrition and has completed the Bachelor of Health Science, Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine at Endeavour College of Natural Health. Her mission is to support the body’s natural healing by providing the nutrients it needs, cutting through health myths, and making food choices simpler.
Judy Beeken – Co facilitator is the general manager of ANOTHEN Community are and will support Jillian with the facilitation of the course and provide some practical strategies to apply in your support workers role.
Completion of the course
At the completion of the course attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
