Supportive Communities: Introduction to Social Media
Event description
This is a 2 hours FREE face to face session delivered by Support Staffordshire, working in partnership with Staffordshire County Council.
‘Supportive Communities’ is a programme of work that supports people to live independently, with support from families and communities. It’s about:
- Understanding the needs and priorities of communities.
- Increasing access, use and confidence in voluntary community assets.
- Increasing awareness and use of independent living opportunities.
Social media is the easiest way to reach out and inform communities about what you do and to promote your organisation, but not all of us realise how easy it can be to use. If you want to start this journey, then come and learn how to set up and use these tools safely and effectively.
Learning outcomes:
- Identify how to set up and manage a Facebook social media account and examine other social media platforms
- Reflect on the principles of data protection and privacy laws, relevant to social media use
- Discuss the use of WhatsApp for communication and collaboration within your organisation
Please bring your smart phone with you (if you have one) for activities during the session.
Please note that free car parking is available on site.
Training Certificates will be provided.
PLEASE NOTE: We reserve the right to charge an attendee’s organisation £60 for failure to attend without prior cancellation. To avoid being charged you must provide a minimum of three working days' notice so that your place can be offered to another person.
