Event description

When: Sunday, July 13th, 12:30-2:30pm
Where: Rockaway Beach at 69th Street, see below for directions
Cost: $20 for a 2-hour lesson (Discounted lesson price from $65)
Guests: Each postdoc can purchase one additional lesson for a guest. Please purchase a guest ticket under your guest's name

Surf’s up! Join your fellow postdocs and learn how to surf at Rockaway Beach this summer!

Everyone is responsible for their own transportation. You can take A train to Far Rockaway, get off at the Beach 67th stop and walk to the beach. Plan on the trip taking about 90 minutes from most Manhattan locations.  

The surf school is on the 69th street beach. When you arrive at the boardwalk, you will spot it under the light blue tent with a logo of the statue of liberty holding a surfboard. There are several surf companies operating in this area, so be sure to go to the New York Surf School.
